Proquest Racing set the bar for both speed and elegance in a pinewood car. While most were trying to perfect their airbrushing and clear coat finishes, Proquest set a presidence with his natual wood cars. He would experimented with various stains and wood rubs to create natural wood cars to show off the grains. He began racing with these cars back in the early days of pinewood racing and quickly became one of the fastest league racers around. When the proxy league PWDR was formed, Proquest quick ascended to the top of the ranks, setting record after record on the track. You can see is influence in many cars now a days as there has been a resurgence of natural wood cars. Many builders now are not only experimenting with stains, but now the use of varioius types of wood.
