We are a large group of pinewood derby enthusiasts from all over the United States. Some of us only race on the local level in Den, Pack, District and Council level. Others of us have children who have out grown the local scene and now race at the professional league level know as proxy racing.
The Global Craftsman's cars are unique in that no two cars look the same. They might sacrifice some speed in order to set their car's style apart from the others. They set a standard for all cars after to be duplicated in design, paint and modifications. They use unique products which then become industry standards for all.
Global Derby Society
Here at Global Derby Society, we do not care how fast you can go, how well you can paint. We do not care which league you are affiliated with, or whose derby products you think is better. Pinewood derby has greatly evolved over the past years due to the professional league racer. Companies have stepped up to provide all racers, both league and local level, with better tools and racing equipment. No one company can claim responsibility for this progression. Each has taken time to assess other company’s products, listened to feedback from racers and then tweaked their products accordingly.

WOW!! Mugiver Muscle Machines only raced in one of the "proxy leagues" but he was a dominant force in the super modified race class. While everyone was testing various types of needle axles, Mugiver came in with bearing custom wheels. While everyone was cutting and shaping wood, Mugiver was experimenting with metals. He did not own a track to test out his creations, yet with his meticulous attention to detail and set up he was able to set track records month in and month out for years. Some of his cars had names such as Skorchd and Hotang. Interesting enough Hotang dominated racing for almost 3 years. With in hours of the biggest race of the season, Mugiver called me telling me Hotang was in peices and he wasn't sure he would be able to get it ready in time for the King of the Hill race. Well, he got the car together with minutes to spare and then the car went on to win as well as set a track record.
