The proxxon manual calls for machine oil to lube it. What weight / type oil are folks with a proxxon drill press using? Thanks in advance for the help.

For general maintenance and keeping everything clean, rust-free, moving and lubricated an exceptional machinist.... said to use CRC 3-36.. I looked online , but I don't see where there is a specific requirement for Proxxon equipment.

I e-mailed Proxxon and they said 15W-40 motor oil will work along with (semi) liquid grease. I'm not sure who would have the grease they talk about in the states. Yes, 15W-40 will work fine. Here you can find some examples for (semi-) liquid grease (German: Fließfett): www.addinol.de/index.php?id=255&L=2&ftu=. So a SAE 15W-40 motor oil will work OK? I'm not sure what you mean by a semi-fluid grease. Do you have an example of something like that. Thanks again, have a great day. Cheers, Subject: AW: Prox Tech 38128 Bench Drill Machine TBM Thanks for your request. You should use a rather viscous oil (e.g. SAE 15W-40) or semi-fluid grease.
